The MAG-PSU00001-NP is a single-phase synchronous buck converter designed for efficient power distribution in High Energy Physics experiments. It operates reliably in harsh radiation and magnetic environments, withstanding over 100 krad(Si) of total ionizing dose and heavy ion irradiations up to an LET of 64 MeV·cm²/mg. The converter functions in magnetic fields up to 40,000 Gauss and is optimized for 400-500nH air core inductors, with switching frequencies between 1-3 MHz for maximum efficiency.

Its monolithic design integrates the power train, bootstrap diode, and controller, providing space-efficient POL regulation from a 5-11V supply. Protection features include over-current, over-temperature, and input under-voltage safeguards, with temperature monitoring via a dedicated analog signal.

Magics rad-hard power conversion products excel in extreme environmental conditions. This radiation and magnetic tolerant module is designed for use in distributed power systems headed for low, medium, and geosynchronous earth orbits as well as for deep space missions, nuclear maintenance, and nuclear decommissioning operations.

The MAG-PSU10001-N module efficiently converts 5-11V input to fixed outputs of 1.2V, 1.8V, 2.5V, 3.0V, 3.3V, or 5.0V, with up to 4A current. Active cooling is required for currents above 1A. The module is enabled by a logical high signal (0.9V to 3.3V) and features a PGood pin for status indication, pulled low in case of faults. It supports multiple mounting orientations.

It can be ordered as evaluation kit for the MAG-PSU00001 or as module for integration into an application.
