Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for an Electronics Application Engineer located in Geel, Belgium.
As an electronics application engineer, you will help shape technologies in space communication, earth observation, and fusion energy. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team that develops electronics systems with and for our in-house semiconductor IC’s, to enable our customers to build high-end systems that perform under extreme conditions.
You will contribute to the full system design lifecycle: from architecture design and specification to prototyping, integration, and verification. Your designs will support innovations in radiation-tolerant, high-availability systems where performance and reliability are critical.
Responsibilities
- Translate system-level needs into reliable, testable, and maintainable electronics.
- Define and implement applications using analog, digital, and mixed-signal electronics.
- Perform simulations, schematic capture and PCB layout, 3D modelling.
- Execute system-level testing, including functional and environmental verification, and support EMC verification conducted by external partners.
- Support customer integration and technical troubleshooting when required.
- Maintain thorough and traceable documentation throughout the development cycle.
- Actively contribute to design methodologies within the company
Your Profile
- Master’s degree in electrical engineering
- Relevant experience in electronics system design and integration is a plus.
- Strong understanding of both analog and digital electronics.
- Experience with embedded microcontrollers and communication protocols.
- Experience with design tools such as LTSpice, Altium Designer or similar.
- Knowledge of in programming languages such as C, Python, VHDL/Verilog.
- Basic knowledge about lab equipment.
- Structured, analytical, and quality-focused mindset.
- Comfortable working on complex, long-lifecycle systems with high reliability demands.
- Enjoy work across multiple disciplines (software, hardware)
- Ability to work autonomously in a flexible environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with hands-on mentality.
- Proficient in English. Knowledge of Dutch is a plus
